Open Studios: Hillvale Photo and Gallery

Hillvale Photo and Gallery are dedicated to supporting, elevating, and exhibiting both emerging and established local artists working in photography and lens-based image-making. Built upon the same community-driven values as Hillvale Photo, an independent photo-lab, the gallery serves as a platform for photographers to express and expand their practice.

What’s on: Visitors will be taken on a guided tour of a behind the scenes look at the operations of Hillvale Photo Lab and Gallery. They will be able to witness the entire process that a roll of film goes through from development in our dip and dunk processors to the scanning systems that we use everyday. The tour will begin in the photography gallery at the front.

Lab Tours run at 12.30, 1.30, 2.30pm. Strictly limited numbers. Registration essential.

Artist panel discussion 2pm – 2.45pm limited capacity no registration required.

Please join us for a panel discussion with artists from the exhibition Correspondences for an exploration on the threads connecting each work; the reciprocal exchange between photographer and subject, people and place.
